Eric Shankles

Hello Everyone,

My name is Eric Shankles (of course, you knew that by seeing my name above). I live in the small town of Fort Payne, Alabama and enjoy every minute of it.

Below I have somethings that show on my resume. This site will show my skills, work experience, and love for my community.

Education

University of Montevallo - B.F.A Technical Theatre : 2004 - 2006 = Concentration in Lighting and Set Design. Graduated with honors in the Alpha Psi Omega honor society and received a nomination for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Award in Stage Management.

Northeast Alabama Community College - transfer : 2001 - 2004 = Technical theatre scholarship and Presidential Host

Fort Payne High School - 2001 = Four year letter holder in FPHS Wildcat Band and Wildcat Jazz Band (trombone and baritone). Mascot during basketball season. Member of the senior play, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", and FPHS Chorus

Experience

Customer Service / Sales representative, Verizon Wireless Fort Payne, AL 2009 - Present = I currently work as a customer service representative at the local Fort Payne store. Here I won the "Icon" award which is an award in both sales and customer service excellence. My job includes answering questions about equipment (phones, tablets, or internet), leading training classes on devices, helping store to meet goals, and helping maintain daily operations.

Lighting Technician / Show Control, Sight and Sound theatre Strasburg, PA 2006 - 2009 = During this position, I actually had several tasks such as leading a crew of 3 to 10 Lighting Technicians during the run of a show, working directly with the Lighting Designer in completing goals, leading entire crew of 20 to 50 with running curtains, animatronics, actors, and guest services, and helping train small animals.

Community and Volunteer Work

Board member of the Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce = I enjoy meeting new people and businesses that are coming in to my hometown. I also have an opportunity to help with new ideas to improve our town for businesses, residents, and tourists.

Fort Payne Middle School Drama Class = I have had the pleasure working working with great 7th and 8th graders in this class.
