Eric Soler – From Nightlife Visionary to Stevedoring Professional
Once the life of the party and a fixture in New York City’s legendary nightlife scene, Eric Soler has seamlessly evolved into a respected leader in the stevedoring industry. Born and raised in New York, this proud Nuyorican soul brother made his name organizing and hosting iconic events across the city—ranging from celebrity birthday parties to multicultural nightlife experiences that brought together people from all walks of life. Known for his personal touch, sharp fashion sense, and a deep understanding of music, marketing, and people, Eric stood apart from other promoters by building genuine relationships and curating diverse, unforgettable experiences.
Today, Eric brings that same energy, adaptability, and connection-building to the Port of New York and New Jersey. With over 17 years of experience, he has held key roles at Red Hook Terminals and Ports America, mastering everything from backend systems to frontline vessel operations. He currently serves as the Facility Security Officer (FSO) for Red Hook’s Newark and Brooklyn terminals and also acts as a backup Hiring Manager, working closely with the NJ State Police Port Security Section and the New York Waterfront Commission.
Eric’s work spans collaboration with the Port Authority, steamship lines, freight forwarders, U.S. Customs & Border Protection, the Coast Guard, and first responders. He’s contributed to operational improvements at ports nationwide—from Maine to Georgia to Texas—and holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, underscoring his passion for process improvement and strategic efficiency.
A U.S. Army and New York State Army National Guard veteran, Eric applies a disciplined, solution-focused approach to his daily work, constantly evolving as a leader while mentoring the next generation. These days, you’re more likely to find him enjoying quiet moments with his family in the backyard than behind the velvet ropes—but no matter the setting, Eric keeps the spirit alive.
