Eric Swenson
Eric Swenson has worked in sales, management, training and marketing for more than 25 years. He works with businesses throughout the United States and Canada to develop talent, train and improve management through consulting, speaking, teaching and writing.
He has applied this knowledge and the lessons learned as a business owner into two books - "Managing People in the 21st Century" (2004) and - coming in 2013 - "Next Generation's Global Workforce," co-authored with New York Times best-selling author Jennifer Kushell.
He is the Founder & Managing Director of RSJ/Swenson, a human resources and organizational development firm serving businesses of all sizes in the United States and Canada. He founded his firm in 2003, and merged it with the CPA firm of Rose, Snyder & Jacobs in 2008.
Prior to launching RSJ/Swenson, he was the Los Angeles District Sales Manager for Paychex, a Fortune 1000 company providing payroll and human resources solutions to businesses.
He also spent 14 years with the Automobile Club of Southern California, having advanced from sales agent to senior management. His last position at the Auto Club was Group Manager for Sales Development, leading over 250 managers, agents and representatives. Also at the Auto Club, Mr. Swenson spent several years in marketing and training, where he specialized in management development and training.
A veteran public speaker, he has spoken to groups of up to 700 people on topics such as management, motivation, personal development and human resources issues. He has conducted seminars for organizations like the California CPA Society to graduate programs at UC Irvine and Santa Monica College.
Eric, an Eagle Scout, is a graduate of the University of the Pacific in Stockton, where he majored in English and communications and was Student Body President at the College of the Pacific.
Mr. Swenson is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, the American Society of Training & Development, and the American Management Association. He is a Past President of the Jonathan Club in Los Angeles and Santa Monica, California, where he received the club's Trumbull award in 2011.
He has served on the Boards of Aria!, a non-profit support group for the Los Angeles Opera; the Los Angeles Opera League; the Auxillary Board for the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, and presently serves on the board of Reef Check Foundation.
