Eric Tauer
Salida, CO
A cyclist since age 5 , Eric is proud of a life lived on bikes.
After his standard Chicago beginnings on Schwinns (Pixies, Sting-Rays, and Varsities), he took to BMX in the mid 70's. In the early 1980's technology presented itself, and he took the next step: mounting a rigid MTB. After years of irrational resistance, he finally embraced the road bike and flourished as a climber and sprinter. Bicycle touring became his most meaningful expression of cycling joy. Rides from Amsterdam to Berlin to Prague, Paris to Barcelona to Pamplona to Santiago de Compostela to Fisterra to Portugal to Madrid, and a six week honeymoon covering Holland, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Switzerland drove him crazy with the desire to live on the bike. Having endured inumerable bike fits himself, he ultimately dedicated himself to studying and practicing the culminanation of bike fit philosophy, understanding, technology, and hands on execution.
Previous college university education in Business lead him to execute critical business functions in manufacturing, distribution, and retail as an accountant, production planner & scheduler, warehouse & logistics manager, and bike shop buyer & manager.
A challenging seventeen (17) year period was spent as a systems expert. The business systems trials and tribulations foisted upon him included: system administration, network design-construction-management, business analysis-application requirements specification, application development, database administration, data warehouse-business analytics design-construction-management, and database architecture. Finally he moved into the "Ivory Tower" as a Systems Architect.
A change of pace found him five years in a retail bike shop helping as many people as possible to feel as great as possible riding a bike for any purpose they may have.
His quest continues.
Helping people feel great on a (any) bicycle continues to be his prime objective.
