My name is Erik, and I am from Brooklyn Heights, New York. I was the youngest of 3 children, and was lucky enough to grow up within a family where my father was a succesful International Businessman and my mother was a stay at home parent.
In 1981, at the age of 12 some five days before my 13th Birthday, my mother had a severe medical attack that almost killed her at the age of 45, that left her as a handicap person ever since. Then some seven months after my mothers 'attack', my older sister died at the age of 16 due to complication of mononucleosis and hepatitis. It was after these two life changing events, that made me the person I am today.
My Father Roy was an International Political Figure, who often found himself in the lights of the press. He was somewhat of a prominent figure himself, at least with regards to his personal business connections and friends. Whether knowing Former U.S President Richard Nixon before he became President and former CIA Director William Casey, or King Fahd of the Saudi Royal Family, or the Sultan of Brunei, or having close friends who knew Arafat, Mummar Qadaffi, Shimon Peres, or the Shah of Iran, as you see, my Dad was a figure who you could learn lots from, and I did.
It was thanks to him, his dealings, and all that surrounded me as I grew up, that made me more aware of today's world along with a much better understanding as to why things are the way they are.
I am someone who believes in equality for all, I have suffered a lot of injustices in my personal life, and thus I can truly appreciate to some extent the suffering that some may go through in other parts of the world to some degree.
For the moment, I am caring for and helping my handicap Mom, who is now 80 years old and has some issues going on.
My ultimate goal, is to work along side those within the International Business area within Europe and or the Middle East where I can share my knowledge and understanding with others, while learning from those who I meet and get to know and work with as well.
Thanks for taking time to learn about me.
