Erika Garcia

Whether it's teaching wind surfing classes on the beaches of Guam or working as a Special Education Teacher for the Oakland Unified School District, I am always eager to build community by sharing and exchange knowledge with others.

I enjoy looking at life through the viewfinder of a camera with a focus on teaching others how to shine.

As a Photography Teaching Artist I have developed and implemented language arts curricula for organizations such as the California Center for the Arts and Streetside Stories, bringing visibility and recognition to young artists as well as promoting and fostering academic success, creativity and enhancing self-esteem within communities.

I am the founder of Focus Finder and co-founder of Know Show & Tell.

I have an M.A. degree in photojournalism with a specialization in visual communication.

I currently reside in Tokyo, Japan.
