Erika Mackinnon has developed a strong and consistent career in medical sales over the past five years. Her experience spans business development, strategic planning, revenue growth, market analysis, sales forecasting, product presentations, account oversight, and maintaining client relationships. Since 2020, she has focused on medical device sales, specializing in Spine. As a Spine Specialist and Sales Associate, she works daily in the operating room, supporting surgical teams and offering product expertise in real-time clinical settings.

Her transition into the medical sales field began with completing a comprehensive 440-hour postgraduate program at Medical Sales College in Sarasota, Florida. After this training, she earned Spine, Orthopedic Reconstruction, and Trauma certifications. Erika gained knowledge in regenerative medicine, orthopedic and spine solutions, trauma devices, consultative selling, and business growth methods, which prepared her to contribute meaningfully to territory expansion and client acquisition.

Mackinnon developed a solid understanding of procedures and technologies associated with spine, biologics, orthopedic reconstruction, sports medicine, and trauma. Her training also included detailed instruction in anatomy, physiology, pathology, biomechanics, orthobiologics, and medical terminology. In addition, she became well-versed in operating room protocols and hospital call points, allowing her to respond effectively to the needs of medical professionals and communicate product benefits.

While completing her certification, Erika began working as a Sales Associate at SS Fusion Medica in Tampa, Florida. Her duties included providing territory coverage, scheduling appointments with physicians and medical teams, and fostering relationships with clinical and administrative staff.

After one year, Mackinnon moved into her current position at Globus Medical in Memphis, Tennessee. Over the past four years, she has contributed to the company’s growth, built lasting client relationships, and supported various procedures, including ACDF, PCF, TLIF, PLIF, ALIF, lateral lumbar fusion, and other spinal deformity operations.

Mackinnon graduated from Florida State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology. Her early professional experience includes working as a Chief Legislative Intern for the Florida Senate, where she was responsible for drafting materials.
