Erika Nykvist

Specializing in body language and movement, more specifically the benefits of allowing spontaneous bodily impulses. She offers lectures and workshops internationally. After her professional dance education Erika continued exploring movement through anthropological studies and fieldwork in Stockholm, Madrid and Rajasthan. She earned her Masters in Performing Arts and Media through Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts focusing on improvisation and interdisciplinary art creation. She is the co-founder of RDU - a 3 year long dance tour project that aimed at promoting integration among youth in Sweden. She was one of the choreographers of the DansDemo project at the Modern Dance Theatre in Stockholm (2009-2011). Currently, she is pursuing her doctorate's degree at the Department of Transformative Inquiry, California Institute of Integral studies where she explores transformation in movement. On the side, she works with a movement modality project geared to find ways for the body to move organically through resistance.
