Growing up, I secretly harbored the idea of eventually becoming Martha Stewart. I also remember thinking I'd share all of her many exciting responsibilities by the time I was maybe twenty-four. Now that I'm already twenty-two, I'd like to think I'm taking the long way to becoming something of a creative business-person.
After completing the Baking & Pastry Arts program at Algonquin College, and working as a pastry chef and manager at a local bakery (Second Avenue Sweets), I came to realize that the culinary industry wasn't my sole form of employment satisfaction, so I began working at two locally-owned and independent clothing boutiques (Trustfund and Roadtrip), where I continue to learn and work today.
I am also currently completing the Business Management and Entrepreneurship program at Algonquin College with the hope of gaining insight and experience into the world of creative, local, and small-scale business.
My interests include cooking (but mostly baking), attending live music shows, thrift-shopping, antiquing, and restoring, road-tripping, and discovering and supporting unique, local businesses.
