Erika Bisbocci

Hello friends, family and passersby!

I'm Erika Bisbocci, a travel-obsessed Macalester College graduate who has been doing her best to carve out her own life path on the road less traveled.

Upon graduating from university with a degree in International Studies and minors in Anthropology and Arabic, I bade farewell to the comforts of home and boarded a plane for Namibia, Africa, where I decided to spend a year volunteering through WorldTeach.

Living abroad for an extended period of time has long been a dream of mine. Traveling has been a substantial part of my life from before I could remember. I was only six months old when I received my first passport and since then I have collected stamps from over sixty countries on five different continents. What began as yearly trips to visit family in Italy, soon turned into month-long voyages around Europe, Latin America and Asia with my parents.

These trips taught me a lot about different cultures, traditions and history. Most of all, however, they taught me about myself--about my passions, my priorities and the way I would like to live my life. They instilled in me a love for travel that is at times overwhelming. Hardly a day goes by in which I am not thinking about my next destination.

In short, traveling has become an addiction.

In December 2013, I returned back to the United States from Africa and took my love for travel to the skies, where I have been working as a flight attendant for a major US airline. I hope that I will be able to mesh my job in the skies with my desire to continue my education and to volunteer worldwide. And while I do not know what this stage in my life will bring, but I hope that it will be as fulfilling as the one I left behind.

I hope you will follow along on my travels!
