Career Statement:
My mission is to touch hundreds of lives and foster the mental well being of hundreds of people through the process of Exposure Therapy. I will achieve this through extensive experience in every aspect of the field starting with research, then graduate school, and finally practice in the field.
Skills:
Research Experience:
One of my more practical skills involves research experience. I have a lot of experience working in research environments including my time as a Research Assistant at UMass and as an intern at McLean Hospital. Through these experiences I learned first hand how the research process works from start to finish. During my time at UMass I administered studies and recorded data. At McLean, I had a more in depth look at research and I created surveys, administered those surveys, collected the data, analyzed the data, and then applied it to the programs that were already in place. Through these experiences I had to undergo several trainings about research ethics and methods, and I feel confident that these skills would apply to any lab. While these skills may not align with my long term goals of becoming an exposure therapist, they are important for my short term goals of working as a Clinical Research Coordinator before Graduate School.
Organizational Skills:
Over the years, my various jobs have taught me the importance of being organized. This was especially important during my time as an Office Assistant. At this job, I was managing the calendars for over twenty engineers with busy schedules. Since I moved around a lot at this job, it was important to have everything in its place so it was easily accessible to anyone who might need the information. I built on
