Erik A. Evensen is an award-winning designer, illustrator, graphic novelist, and educator. His creative work has been called “innovative and groundbreaking” byGraphic Novel Reporter,“a thrill” by Ain’t It Cool News, “literate and entertaining” by Geeks of Doom, and “smart and snarky” by BookList Online. His 2007 graphic novel,Gods of Asgard,has been featured at the Field Museum of Natural History and the Wexner Center for the Arts, and adopted as a textbook at James Madison University, Marshall University, and Gustavus Adolphus College.
He is presently an Assistant Professor of Design at the University of Wisconsin–Stout, teaching beginning and advanced courses in design drawing & visualization, digital rendering, and design methodology & research. He regularly serves as guest speaker, invited author, expert reviewer, and juror in a variety of creative venues.
His creative work is interdisciplinary, and includes branding, publication, information graphics, environmental graphics, motion graphics, illustration/visualization, and comics. Erik holds an MFA in Industrial, Interior, and Visual Communication Design from Ohio State University and studied fine art at both the University of New Hampshire and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts.
