Erik Hendrickson

Erik Hendrickson is a communications professional with 20 years of financial media relations and communications experience. He is currently the head of global media relations at White & Case.

Previously he was at Rubenstein in New York where he was charged with growing the Business/FInancial practice, as well as managing account teams for a diverse set of clients.

Before Rubenstein, he directed media relations for the Special Situations group at Financial Dynamics, the strategic communications division of FTI Consulting. In addition to advising clients on crises, he ran account teams for a wide variety of accounts.

Erik spent over eight years at Merrill Lynch heading a team that conducted PR for the firm's Global Wealth Management division in the U.S. This included the nation-wide brokerage force, private banking, online investing, call centers, retirement business, as well as debit and credit cards to name a few segments. In this regard he counseled senior management on a range of internal and external concerns, inclusive of acquisitions, divestitures, reductions in staff, product launches, publicity issues, and overall brand management.

Prior to working with wealth management, he was the head of media relations for the Americas region of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, the firm's $500 billion asset management business. He was charged with raising the overall visibility of the retail mutual funds and institutional capabilities, third-party activities, separate accounts, DC/DB business, and sub-advisory mandates.

In 1999 Erik was with the global communications firm Burson-Marsteller, where he had been working on-site at Merrill Lynch as a media relations consultant. Other clients at that time included U.S. Trust, Accenture, Dresdner RCM, and Fidelity.

Erik began his career at Mount & Nadler, a boutique public relations company specializing in media relations for mutual funds. There he garnered publicity for such clients as Thornburg Asset Management, Boston Capital, Ivy Mackenzie, Third Avenue Value Funds, and Franklin Mutual Series.

Married and living in Brooklyn, N.Y., he holds a degree in Organizational Communication from The State University of New York at New Paltz.
