Erik Jensen

Erik Jensen previously worked at Grayslake North High School. In his current post, he leads a special education classroom and serves as Supervisor of Athletics. At Grayslake North, Erik Jensen also taught students and coached wrestlers and football players, including assisting with related summer camps. In addition, he continues to work with players at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, where he serves as an assistant varsity wrestling coach and an assistant football coach. As a former high school athlete, Jensen understands the critical role coaches contribute in the lives of players. He balances his classroom teaching with time spent coaching players of various ages and skill levels.

Erik Jensen has studied extensively for his profession. He expects to complete a Master's degree in School Leadership from Chicago's Concordia University in August 2013. In June 2011, he fulfilled the requirements at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois, to qualify to teach drivers' education. Previously, he finished a Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Special Education at National Louis University in Wheeling, Illinois. Erik Jensen earned his Bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University, where he studied physical education and general studies. He began his collegiate education at the College of DuPage, where he completed an Associate of Arts. A longtime Illinois resident, he pursued his secondary studies at Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn. In high school, he competed in wrestling matches and football games and received a Matter of Pride award in 1998.

Outside of his professional and academic endeavors, Erik Jensen goes fishing and supports Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois.
