Erikk Ross

Erikk has been a Web Developer for more than a decade. He graduated from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia. He also earned a Master's Degree in Information Technology. He currently works as a Software Engineer for Lake County Government in central Florida. He programs using Microsoft .NET and the C# programming language. He is also proficient in PHP, JavaScript, ColdFusion, JSP, Java, Visual Basic and several other languages.

Erikk Ross has worked for the Art Institutes for more than five years and joined the WDIM fulltime faculty in 2009. Erikk teaches a number of different classes for the Web Design program including Introduction to Programming, Database Systems, Web Site Development II and Senior Research. Due to the highly technical and rigorous nature of these courses, Erikk utilizes a highly interactive and hands-on approach in his classes. Erikk's students benefit from video tutorials, as well as real-world insight and resources.

Erikk has also been active on the WDIM curriculum team, helping to plan new courses and acting as a Subject matter Expert and author of several classes.

Erikk has been a guest speaker at several events over the last several years. In May, he presented at the 33rd Annual Local Government Law in Florida seminar where he discussed social networking procedures for local government agencies. Erikk was also part of a panel titled Social Media Use in the Classroom, at the AEJMC Southeast Colloquium which took place at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Erikk has three primary goals in his classes:

  • Provide an environment where everyone feels comfortable.
