Who I Like To Help

There’s no denying that civil litigation is expensive and time-consuming. When towns, small businesses, and individuals get caught up in litigation they don’t just need zealous representation, they need guidance and counseling. I make sure my clients do what’s most cost-effective and appropriate for their businesses and for their lives.

I represent businesses, banks, developers, and municipalities. I represent people who have much better things to do than get caught up litigation. That fact makes up the heart of my practice. I strive to limit the distraction lawsuits bring to my clients’ everyday lives.

Why I Practice

I have the privilege of constantly learning – about businesses; about municipalities; but most importantly, about people. Representing clients isn’t simply about knowing the law; it’s about knowing the client. I love civil litigation because it gives me the opportunity to be a perpetual student, learning new things from every representation and putting that knowledge to immediate use.

I also get to teach. Hiring an attorney doesn’t simply mean taking a backseat to the legal process. While I don’t set out to make my clients legal experts, I endeavor to educate my clients so that we can make fully informed and rational decisions together. I don’t speak legalese, I speak common sense.

Who I Am

Just as I encourage my clients to do, I insist on having a life outside the office. My wife and I love to host dinner parties and travel. Her extended family in Texas and Louisiana has opened up my Yankee eyes to the importance that is college football (and my Yankee stomach to the importance that is crawfish).

Staying active is important to me. I don’t golf, but I’m always happy to take my client’s rock climbing. I’ve been climbing and instructing for over thirteen years. When the weather’s too cold, I’m an avid indoors-men, offsetting any benefit of my exercise routine with an insatiable desire to bake and consume amazing desserts.
