Erik is a full time undergrad student at the University of Victoria with an interest in the field of psychology.
Erik is a Canadian citizen yet comes from a Norwegian heritage. Currently he resides in Victoria but many of his close relatives live in the Fraser Valley. He returns in the summer for work.
Erik's first work experience starts at a company called Soprema which manufactures roofing. He worked there as a palletizer, shortly later was promoted to a splicer. After a year and a half he left and started working as a rides and attractions operator. Next year when he returned he was promoted to a supervisor.
I have many dreams and passions in my life. They are what push me through every task I get through in university. All my career goals vary from one another where they aren’t much related. My last goal is to become a psychiatrist. All though my journey into University has just began, I don’t plan on giving up in the hardships that inevitably will come. If my future goals don’t work out then I will go to culinary school to pursue my interest in cuisine. Ever since starting my second year of school I’ve been doing the majority of cooking at home. Throughout the months I’ve been adjusting current recipes to make them my own. I love cooking for my roommates any chance I can get, to improve my skills.
My music interests vary greatly. They can range from classical to rap and hip hop. The reason it varies so much is it dependent on my mood or task I must accomplish. Such as if I’m at the gym, I’ll listen to hip hop or rock or if I’m studying or relaxing at the beach I’ll listen to instrumental and classical.
There is one quote that resonates with me deeply. It’s "Do not go gentle into the good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light." by Dylan Thomas. It inspires me to never do anything without giving one hundred percent. If you are to go out then you should go out in flame, giving everything you have.
Recently I have become an animal activist at heart. Within the year my plans include volunteering at animal shelters. Eventually will join an organisation to help protect the dolphins in Japan against their onslaught.
