Erin Fields is an Open Education and Scholarly Communications Librarian at the University of British Columbia. She received her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Western Ontario in 2006. Prior to becoming a librarian, Erin worked as teacher in K-10 environments and adult education. During her 8-year library career, Erin has worked in a number of academic roles focused on teaching and learning in a variety of contexts. Her current areas of interest include open education and open scholarship, the intersection of information literacies and digital literacies and emerging roles and library transformation. supports at the University of British Columbia. Erin is currently the Open Education Visiting Program Officer for the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL/ABRC). She is the recipient of the 2018 Award of Excellence in Open Education and the Open Education Research & Advocacy Fellowship with BCcampus. Erin was also one of the 2019 UBC Open Educational Resource Champion recipients, a recognition from the UBC Vancouver Alma Mater Society, the VP Academic and Provost, and UBC Library.
