Erin Hill is a strong believer in the power of design as a tool for engagement and change creation. She is currently the digital communications and student engagement specialist for the Asheville City Schools district in Asheville, NC. Erin is a graduate of UNC Asheville, where she received a BA in International Studies.
After graduation, Erin volunteered for a year through the Americorps Corporation within the Asheville City Schools district, where she had a key role in launching the successful 'Parent U' initiative, which provides free sessions and classes for parents and families to better engage all stakeholders. In its first year of implementation, assessment, and evaluation of community needs were essential while developing outreach and engagement programs for parents and families. It was in this capacity that she designed promotional materials for programming and the initiative as a whole.
That eventually led to employment with the school districts' communication department where she currently manages social media accounts, develops websites, is a photographer, designer, video producer, student engagement specialist, and professional multi-tasker.
She also finds the beauty and majesty of the Western North Carolina mountains to be the greatest humbling agent that there is.
