Erin Luong

I am a Mental Health Literacy Specialist and School Counsellor from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am very interested in all aspects of student mental health and have experience counselling at all grade levels from kindergarten to university post graduate studies.

I currently work as a School Counsellor and Junior High Health Teacher at Christ the King School in the Calgary Catholic School District.

I am a proud recipient of the Alberta Teachers Association AISI Innovative Practice Award (2002) and the ATA Murray Jampolsky Award (2016) for Outstanding Practice as a School Counsellor. In addition I was also awarded the GFEL Top 100 Leaders in North America Education Award (2021-22).

I am very passionate about developing Professional Learning Networks within the School Counselling Community. I explore this passion as the president and now past president of the Alberta Teachers Association Council of School Counsellors (November 2018- present).

I also Co-Moderate #SCCHAT (2014- present) an international monthly twitter chat which connects school counsellors from across the globe.
