Erin Singer

Boston, Massachusetts

Erin has over 12 years of experience working in a variety of community-based social work settings, including direct service, administration, and research and evaluation. She has primarily worked directly with youth living in out of home care, children and their families living on low incomes, and formerly homeless women. Erin has also been involved in child welfare evaluations, and research in the areas of social support among sexual minority youth, as well as those emancipating from long-term foster care. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Social Work at Boston College and works as a Program Coordinator at AFC Mentoring, where she coordinates a program for young adults aging out of foster care and transitioning into adulthood. Erin's dissertation explores the role of natural mentors in reducing mental health and substance abuse disparities between sexual minority and non-sexual minority youth. In her free time, Erin loves spending time with family, crafting, hiking, skiing, and reading.
