Hire me

Hello, my name is Erin Schmidt I was born in a town called Hanover in the rural part of southern Ontario. I am a middle child of three girls and my parents are James and Nancy Schmidt. My parents emphasized and encouraged a love of the outdoors and physical activity while I was growing up by taking our family camping every summer and encouraging regular physical activity every day after dinner. They continued their support as I got older by entering me into a multitude of sports such as soccer, rugby and baseball. As an adult I continue to foster my love of physical activity by playing on many sports teams such as baseball and volleyball and regularly visiting the gym. I am enrolled in the Sports and Physical Education program at Laurentian University and will graduate in spring 2020. My other love in life has been education. Growing up I would help peers with concepts in school that they were having difficulty with. I loved seeing the growth I could encourage in other people and seeing how inspired they would be come about learning. I applied to the concurrent education program at Laurentian University and will be entering my fifth year in August 2020. My two loves in life combined to take me half way around the world to Finland in fall 2018 where I had the chance to participate in Laurentian’s exchange program with Jyvaskyla University, Finland. This opportunity gave me a chance to see a different part of the world and gain a further understanding and respect for differences in education.
