Ernest Barbella

Currently living in Syosset, New York, Ernest Barbella is an experienced retail food industry professional. As an ambitious businessmen and entrepreneur, his career experience includes operating a pasta packaging company with 50 employees, founding a spice manufacturing company in China with over 100 employees, and owning five supermarkets on Long Island, New York. Ernest Barbella initiated his professional career in 1964 as an Assistant Store Manager with Daitch Shopwell Supermarkets.

Over the course of his career, Ernest Barbella obtained top executive positions with several large retail food companies. While serving with Wakefern Food Corporation, Ernest Barbella simultaneously held the positions of Vice President of Retail Store Operations, Vice President of Meat Division, and Administrative Director of Frozen Food Division. With Hills Supermarkets, Ernest Barbella served as Executive Vice President, overseeing a $750 million retail chain. Joining the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc., Ernest Barbella served as the Vice President and General Manager of the New York Region. Ernest Barbella graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1958. While attending City College of New York, Baruch College, Ernest Barbella served as President of the Foreign Trade Association. Upon graduating from City College of New York in 1962, he accepted a full scholarship to study Food Marketing at Cornell University. Ernest Barbella earned his Master of Science in Economics from Cornell University in 1964.
