Ernest Montford

With a career spanning over three decades, retired investment advisor Ernest Montford Sr. has worked with multiple firms, such as Merrill Lynch, where he was an account executive. Over the following years, he honed his expertise before joining E.F. Hutton, where he initially served as a manager. After several years in the role, he was promoted to vice president. While with the company, Ernest Montford established its first office in Savannah, Georgia.

After leading the location for six years, Mr. Montford left the firm to found Montford Associates, where he served as chief executive officer. His duties included marketing, client liaison services, public relations, and business planning. With the company, Mr. Montford’s firm secured clients from multiple areas, including schools and religious organizations. In addition, he provided investment services focused on key areas, such as endowments and retirement plans.

Mr. Montford led the company until closing it in 2010. By that time, it had acquired 35 clients and was managing almost $1 billion.
