Ernesto Hinojosa
Science is my life and plants are my passion.
My name is Ernesto Hinojosa. I gradutated in Biology at the University of Valencia, Spain, specializing in Plant Biology. During my last year of college I enjoyed the Erasmus experience and moved to Prague, in order to complete my education at the prestigious Charles University. There, for a nine-months span, I worked as a seed technician at the Instutute of Botany, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Průhonice, where I expertised in evolution and developement, seed management and biogeography.
After that, I studied a Master of Science in Plant Biology and Biotechnology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (as of 2012, ranked as the best University of Spain), where I worked as a Laboratory Technician in molecular plant biology. I mastered in taxonomy and systematics, molecular biology and characterisation as a part of a bigger study concerning the rand-flora pattern. My thesis versed in the phylogenetic relationships within the Helichrysum genus based in the ndhf region of the chloroplast DNA (you can download the document from the link below, in spanish).
I also obtained a Master of Education at the University of Alicante, as I consider science teaching as the fabric of the scientific community.
I consider myself creative and enthusiastic, qualities I cannot concieve science without. I'm also a team worker, optimistic and always prone to pursue a higher knowledge.
I enjoy trekking, traveling and music as much as science, and I'm always open to new challenges and opportunities.
You can contact me anytime you want for further details. Please don't hesitate to ask me anything!
