Ernesto Moralez, an esteemed public health professor and researcher, boasts an inspiring academic journey. Raised in New Mexico to Mexican immigrant parents, his unconventional path led him from a regional community college to Hunter College, where he initially pursued sociology, to New Mexico State University, where he transitioned to community and public health, earning his bachelor's degree in Human and Community Services in 2007. This journey continued with a Master's in Public Health, leading to valuable experiences during an internship at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. In 2015, he accomplished a Ph.D. in Health and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver, where his focus shifted from public health program development to crafting meaningful educational experiences.
