Eric Robidoux

Amherst, Massachusetts, United States

My name is Eric Robidoux and I grew up in the small town of Westborough, MA. I have one older sister who attended Virgina Tech and two parents who both attended Hamilton College in upstate New York. I graduated from Westborough High School in the spring of 2010 and committed to UMASS Amherst soon after. I played football and lacrosse all four years at Westborough High School and continue to play these sports in intramurals at UMASS. I have one small dog named Fritz at home who has been my loyal companion for 11 years.

My professional career began at the young age of 15. I worked at Cold Stone Creamey as a scooper/cashier and gained valuable experience. I then began working for The Mill Store, a small furniture store based out of Westborough,MA. I gained valuable customer experience as a salesperson/assembler. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working there, but when I turned 18 I wanted something more. I began working for a temp agency called Manpower in which they sent me on short assignments. Some of these included working for Cumberland Farms corporate office, TJX, and Swann Foods.

After my first two years of college, I began looking for an internship which could help me gain business experience. I began interviewing at several places and finally landed an internship with EMC Corporation. EMC is based out of Hopkinton, MA. I worked there for the entire summer of 2013 and I would most definetly like to return. I gained great experience working within team confinements and meeting important deadlines. I truly feel as though I made important contributions to my team and my manager felt so as well. Hopefully I will be returning after my graudation date of May 2014. I am now a senior here at UMASS and I am enjoying every last minute of time I have before moving onto the business world.

Throughout my teens I discovered a passion that truly drives me. Whether it be a stranger or my friends or family, I love helping others. I love being rewarded with kind words after I have helped another person through a difficulty. I volunteered at Greyhound friends throughout high school. This was a great experience in helping dogs in need of attention and care. I also felt like the short handed staff was very appreciative of my efforts. I have also served as a youth basketball coach and took part in a trip to West Virginia to help impoverished families.
