Erol Khoza

Hi there, I am Erol Khoza a B Ed student and beauty pageant model staying in Hillbrow. I started doing modelling when I was eight years old. The first time I did it the intention was to do it once. As I was on stage I loved the feeling that I got how people were cheering for me and it just boosted my self esteem . I grew up as a girl who was bullied for how skinny i was but modelling made me to fall in love with my body and embrace it even more.

The beauty pageant world is also about giving back to the community, I used to have afternoon classes at home assisting kids with their home works and projects that is when my love for teaching started. I come from a disadvantaged community( now I stay in Hilbrow due to academic reasons ) and I understand how it is like to be low on teaching and learning resources. Kids from disadvantage communities also come with their own problems from home. As a 21st century teacher creating a space that will give learners from such communities hope that they can also achieve their dreams. Most of these kids do not get support from their parents when it comes to their hobbies and talents. I want to be a teacher that will open opportunities for my learners to be able to achieve their dreams.
