Edmond Santelices
Fashion Designer and Dancer in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Edmond Santelices is an upcoming Fashion Designer from Vancouver, British Columbia, born on July 2, 1990, in San Andres Catanduanes, Philippines. Back in 2002, he and his family moved to Canada to seek a better and brighter future. From an early age, he was diagnosed with a genetic condition called Hyperhidrosis that challenged him to perform hands-on tasks on a daily basis. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop him from successfully getting involved in numerous performing arts activities like painting, singing and especially dance. After graduating as an Aircraft Structural Maintenance Engineer at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, he decided to switch to fashion. With precision, patience and close attention to details to his work, he became obsessed with fashion and it quickly grew as his life’s passion.
He would describe his designs as minimal, street and luxury. His source of inspiration is also heavily influenced by his visual understanding of the modern architecture.
As a student at the Visual College of Art and Design of Vancouver, he continues to grow as a strong designer and enhances his knowledge by learning different techniques to develop perfect garments. He hopes to someday inspire others to do what they love and succeed against all odds.
