Student-leaders who have the same range and experience as Nico are hard to come by. As former councilor and head of the Ways and Means Committee of the University Student Council of UP Diliman, he has led numerous fund-raising activities for the student council's projects and campaign.

During his term as a USC Councilor, he was also the Marketing Head for Athlete's Feat, a fun run for the benefit of the university's varsity teams -- a project that is in many ways close to his heart as he was also a scholar and part of the UP Varsity Swimming Team.

A year after he served as USC Councilor, he decided to run for and won a councilor seat in the Engineering Student Council. His previous experience as a USC Councilor has proved invaluable as he led the ESC Externals Committee, keeping in mind the importance of having a college student council that relevant not only to its home college but also to the entire university.

What Nico has is the ability to assert the relevance of a college student council in a wider audience and context which allows him lead with perspective. It is this understanding of the inherent connections which some take for granted that makes for the best student representation. It is this deeply-rooted passion for service that makes Nico Our ESC Chairperson.
