I graduated with a MSc degree in Engineering Physics from Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH) in 1988. I started my career as a McKinsey Fellow, completing a McKinsey sponsored MBA at INSEAD in 1990.
After receiving my MBA, I stayed on with McKinsey for another four years. I left in 1994 to move back to Stavanger, and became CEO of ODIN Reservoir Software & Services, a company established by IBM and Norwegian Computing Centre (NCC) to commercialize research code developed at NCC.
ODIN was acquired by Smedvig Technology (now www.roxar.com) in 1995, where I stayed on as Deputy Managing Director until 1997.
Since 1997 I have worked as entrepreneur and investor. Companies I have founded/co-founded include Global IP Sound (acquired by Google in 2010), Sonorit (acquired by Skype/eBay in 2006), Telio (listed on OSE in 2006) and Crudecorp (listed on OSE in 2012).
Currently I am invested in, and working with, a range of exciting early stage technology companies, including VisionIO, Pexip, Videxio, Ascenium and Voca.
I am married to Bjørg, living in Stavanger with the last 2 of our 6 combined wonderful children.
