Having been lucky enough to live by the Maine ocean my whole life, I've always been aware of the pulsing beats, the screeching birds, the bustling crabs, but after the start of an internship with a local lab I am aware of something more... Every day- all around us, the ocean, pure and beautiful, is being filled with plastic. I realize that "changing the world" is a bit presumptuous, but we can all start somewhere. Starting at the bottom I am taking one step at a time- working with family and friends to decrease the amount of plastic that we use everyday.
