Essie Acevedo

Essie Acevedo is a wife, mother and student at The University of Alabama. She is originally from Bessemer, Alabama but currently residing in Fort Hood, Texas. She is a proud veteran of the United States Army and has traveled extensively and resided in many locations around the globe. She enjoys cooking, learning new things, reading, and taking care of her children. She is no stranger to adventure due to being married to an active duty soldier in the United States Army In this role, each new duty assignment brings on a new location with new opportunities and the challenges of relocating her family. This gives her the strength and ability to face change head on and make her home where ever she resides.

Essie is a hard worker and has been employed in various technological positions over the years. She was a certified computer systems analyst while serving in the military and continues to further her education to accomplish goals that she set for herself many years ago. She is the eighth born child of nine and was taught by her parents to never stop persevering. She cherishes each day that she is allowed to see and tries to be a positive role model for her two daughters.
