Estefanía Jiménez
Student in Valladolid, España
My name is Estefanía and I’m a 21-girl living in Valladolid, a small city in the centre of Spain. Nowadays, I live with my parents in the same city I study, and I don’t have brothers or sisters, so I’m an only child.
I consider myself a patient, polite and ambitious young woman, because I always do my best in all the thing I do. I think I can make friends easily because I consider myself pleasant, extroverted and empathic. Nevertheless, I am also resentful and a little bit fanatical.
I’m in year 4 of Primary Teaching Education in the Valladolid’s University. Since I was a child, I have wanted to be a teacher because I had a great experience in the school and my teachers were really good. Also, when I grew up, I realised the importance of a good education for children because they are the future and they need good teachers to grow up as competent people. Finally, I love spending time with children and enjoying with them.
The first teaching experience I had was with my sister’s friend for two summers with the subjects she hadn’t passed. Nevertheless, my main teaching experience was the last year during my practices in a school near to my house. I spent two months with the students of year 2 teaching and learning how to teach English, Science and Arts. It was an amazing experience in which I learnt a lot.
I’m so excited to be a teacher in the future because it’s one of my life’s goals. On the other hand, I think to be a CLIL teacher is a difficult task because you have to manage a lot of things at the same time, but I will try to do my best.
It’s interesting for us as future teachers to have this type of opportunities to develop teaching skills. The last year I also participated in one telecollaboration and it was a great experience where we met people from other countries and their cultures. Therefore, I’m looking forward to starting this telecollaboration and meet my new mates.
