A longtime Texas resident currently residing in Round Rock, Esther Burnham, formerly Esther Furrer, grew up in El Paso. She is experienced in providing strategic, operational, and financial leadership to organizations, most recently serving as assistant superintendent of finance for the El Paso Education Initiative, Inc., where she supervised accounting staff and non-instructional operations for the charter school district’s three campuses and headquarters. Esther Burnham previously served the district for seven years as finance administrator.

She received her bachelor of arts in economics with a minor in government from the University of Texas (UT) at Austin. Her previous experience spans a range of positions and organizations, including a consultant role at KMPG LLP, budget coordinator for the Council on Foreign Relations Studies Department, and policy analyst for the New York City Mayor’s Office of Operations.

Esther (Furrer) Burnham takes active roles in supporting her community. A former member of the Texas Association of School Business Officials, the UT Austin alumni association, and El Paso Pro Musica, she currently belongs to Temple Beth Shalom in Austin and the Girl Scouts of Central Texas. She has contributed time and energy to such nonprofits as Coats for Kids, Communities in Schools, and the Jewish Federation of Austin.
