I’ve spent a majority of my life involved with Boy Scouts, and it has provided me with many skills and experiences that I will take with me throughout my entire life. I began in first grade with cub scouts, and my elementary years spent there gave me lots of fun memories with my friends. Cub Scouts mainly prepared me for Boy Scouts though, which I was involved with during middle and high school. During this time, I went on countless camping trips, held many different leadership positions, and went to two high adventure camps. The standouts of my Boy Scout career include when I was senior patrol leader, went to Philmont, and earned Eagle Scout. While I was senior patrol leader for 6 months, I was in charge of the entire troop and relaying information between the scouts and adult leaders. When I went to Philmont, I prepared for about 6 months for the 11-day, 77-mile hiking trip in New Mexico. This trip was one of the most difficult but rewarding experiences of my life. I ended my Boy Scout career with earning my Eagle Scout, which I achieved by earning each rank before, earning several merit badges, and completing my Eagle Scout service project, which consisted of constructing a small garden outside of a historical house in Forsyth County. All 12 years that I spent in Scouts were extremely rewarding and will help me for years to come.
