Gena Lea

My name is Eugenia Lea I am artist focusing on painting and ceramics mainly. I work with other mediums as well and still learning. I am a junior art and digital media major at Buena Vista University. I came to college to become a visual artist while working in the arts in the workforce and I am excited to do so. As I progress through my studies and various works I will be posting pictures on my various sites of my work documenting them for you all so that I may share my passion with you. I have already achieved having my work published in a magazine and won an award at an art conference. Art has always been a huge part of my life. It has always been a way for me to connect with people in different ways. When I was younger I was very shy at heart and art was a way for others to see what I was feeling and to see what ideas I was expressing. Art has taught me that people can take one image in so many directions, this puzzled me about art. I found that I enjoyed seeing what people felt about my works, if they got the same feelings I had expressed from my works, and what stories people had accomplished while trying to interpret meaning to them. The great thing about art is it is always a mystery; a yes and no answer. I enjoy that so many things can come from art and so it became my life's passion.
