Eugenia Marshall

I am a woman who has always LOVED numbers. My love for numbers surfaced in elementary when I was voted class treasurer. After High School, I moved to Los Angeles to attend Cal State Los Angeles. Shortly thereafter, I found employment as the Finance Administrator at Lee & Associates where I worked with an amazing team on multi-million dollar commercial real estate deals with companies such as Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, MTV, and Jerry Bruckheimer. In 2000, I moved down south to Memphis, Tennessee where I worked as the Office Administrator of a subsidiary of the Canadian National Railroad. I was the first employee hired by the company in their newly acquired facility. Working for the railroad, I was the only female manager within our subsidiary. I played a major role in setting up the company’s administrative and financial policies and procedures. Currently, I am the Director of Operations at Tavis Smiley’s holding company; The Smiley Group, Inc. which is comprised of seven diverse media/communications companies. I am also a managing partner of Social Butterfly Consulting which is a consulting firm specializing in ideation, social media, entertainment and operational strategy. Striving to make my community better by actively participating in community based organizations such as the Los Angeles African American Women’s Public Policy Institute alumni board and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. She is also a board member of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Cares Mentoring Movement is my passion. I believe that we must take care of Mother Earth; therefore, I have completed LEED Core Concepts and Strategies and I am a LEED Green Associate.
