Eugenio Solinas

Eugenio Solinas graduated in 2009 from Conservatory of Music “A.Vivaldi” in Alessandria (Italy), under the guidance of Professor C.Merlo.
He took part in many music festivals both in Italy and abroad. In 2008 he performed with “Trio Mau” in Vatican and his concert was broadcast live on the National Radio and he also began his solo career performing Haydn's Concerto in C major with Solisti of Perugia Orchestra, and Vivaldi's Concerto for 2 cellos with the Conservatory “A.Vivaldi” Symphonic Orchestra.
In 2008 and 2009 he won a scholarship offered by Saint Rocco Ancient Sacred Music Academy in Alessandria. In 2009 he placed second in the regional selection of the Soroptimist Competition.
In the same year he won the first prize as soloist in the fifth edition of “Carlo Mosso International Music Competition”. In 2010 he won a scholarship offered by Turin Philharmonic Orchestra and CRT Foundation and he graduated from L.Perosi Academy in Biella (Italy). He also competed along with pianist Hilary Bassi in the chamber music section of “Carlo Mosso International Music Competition”, placing second.
From 2011 to 2013 he studied with cellist Marianne Chen and he attended a three years course at the Academy of Music in Pinerolo, under the guidance of Umberto Clerici.
From 2013 to 2015 he attended a Master program at the “Mannes College The New School of Music” under the guidance of Ms. Barbara Stein Mallow. In New York City, he performed in the most important concert halls of the city, such as Symphony Space, Alice Tully Hall, Weill Hall Carnegie Hall.
He also attended chamber music classes with Timothy Eddy, Todd Phillips, Victor Rosenbaum, Ann Setzer, Jeff Zeigler. He has been involved in the “Mannes American Composer Ensemble” (MACE) directed by Lowell Liebermann, the “Baroque Music Ensemble” coordinated by Nancy Wilson, and the “Mannes Orchestra” directed by David Hayes.
Currently, he is studying at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music for a Instrumental Performance degree program in the studio of Jennifer Culp.
Eugenio Solinas plays a Filippo Fasser cello, made in Brescia in 2012, copy of a Pietro Giacomo Rogeri 1717.
