I was born in California, and grew up in a Historical Gold Mining town. I attended school in a one room school house until sixth grade. My teacher grew up in China as a Quaker missionary kid. He encouraged my love for learning and history.
We moved to Oklahoma to take care of my grandmother. In Oklahoma, I went to a German Mennonite High School. Then to Oklahoma Baptist University, in Shawnee.
In 1990, I moved to Louisville, to attend Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I met my husband there and we married in 1993.
I teach middle school art and high school Humanities, Ancient History, and English at a private Christian school.
I am actively involved at Crescent Hill Baptist Church.
I also enjoy gardening, design and listening to music.
