An active and multi-faceted musician, violist, conductor, teacher, and arranger, David Lee has been playing in orchestras for over fifteen years. His teaching experience includes coaching numerous chamber groups, private lessons in viola and violin for students of all ages, and experience as instructor at Northern Illinois University (Dekalb, IL) and Illinois Valley Community College (Oglesby, IL).

Especially gifted working with young people, David was recently named as the Music Director and Conductor of the Holland Area Junior Strings, and previously served as Co-director of the Illinois Valley Youth Symphony (Lasalle, IL). David has also served as teaching assistant at the Birch Creek Music Festival (Door County, WI), coaching chamber groups and performing on stage with musicians from the Chicago Sinfonietta Orchestra and Lyric Opera of Chicago.

David received his Bachelor of Arts in both English and music from Hope College in Holland, MI, and a Master of Music and degree in viola performance from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois. His teachers have included Jina Choi, Barbara Corbato, and Anthony Devroye. To further enhance his education, David studied at the prestigious Pierre Monteux School in Hancock, Maine and at the Hot Springs Music Festival in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
