At a very young age, I was taught to always take adventures in life. Having two dare devil and sports obsessed older brothers, I was definitely always up for anything. My family encouraged us to travel and see new things, so we never took a generic trip to Disneyland . For us, it was always an off the beaten path beach in the Caribbean or a week spent living in tents on the Pacific Coast. Even though I grew up in the busy city of Atlanta, we still found ways to get away and explore. For my 18th birthday, I chose to go with my parents on the experience of a lifetime. Instead of having a birthday party with my friends, I thought skydiving would be a little more memorable, and after a quick three minutes of screaming and seeing Georgia like I have never seen it before, I was right. Seeing the world from Paris to Alaska to Greece and St. Lucia, I feel as if my life up until now can be defined from the places I have been. I learned to love exploring and have learned about different cultures, which has helped me grow into the person I am today. Another aspect of adventure that has stuck with me is the love of food, which is a major part of my life. My mom being a chef, I basically spent my childhood in a kitchen. Later on when my family and I took vacations around the world, we would always find the best restaurants and take food tours no matter where we were. From that I took away an even broader understanding of food and eventually found my passion in cooking.
