Evaldas Labanauskas

As 2014/2015 Hubert H.Humphrey Fellow at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University I am focusing on interaction between social/digital and traditional media.

With 10+ years of experience in journalism, I began my career as a foreign news reporter and covered multiple historical events including the Orange Revolution in Ukraine, the Russian-Georgian war in 2008. I have been the chief editor of an independent weekly, Veidas, which is a top one Lithuanian political and business magazine. Previously, I led the newsroom of media corporation Diena Media News and etc.

I developed communication skills while working as a journalist, successfully covering national and international affairs. While working with and leading teams on various assignments I gained the ability to take initiative and harness responsibility.

Because of my extensive work experience in international affairs, I have strong analytical skills, knowledge of the Lithuanian political system, foreign policy, international relations and media.
