Hey Guys,

I am a grade 12 student currently attending Eric Hamber Secondary School. I love playing sports such as volleyball, basketball and ultimate. I tend to spend most of my time in my school gym as I enjoy being active. Playing sports has really given me the confidence, teamwork skills and leadership skills I have today. Without sports, I can honestly say that I would not know as many great people as I know today. At my school, I enjoy taking on leadership roles like managing my school store and being a peer counsellor to people in need of talking to.

Outside of school I volunteer at Amherst Private Hospital. This is my way of giving back to my community and relieving stress after a long day of school. Most days I usually spend time with elders and listen to stories of their lives, and sometimes they even offer me words of wisdom. Just seeing how happy they are when I spend time with them truly inspires me to be the best person I can be. The satisfaction of making others happy is an indescribable feeling. This is the feeling I would like to have when I pursue a career in the future. Another thing I do outside of school is run a non-profit organization called The Civil Project with five other friends. All of our proceeds go to BC's Childrens Hospital as it's our way of giving back to the hospital we were born in. We raise money by selling apparel and have also started creating music. Through the Civil Project, we hope to empower students and engage them in their community as well.
