Evan Deese
Meteorologist and Forecaster in Lexington, South Carolina
Howdy, I’m Evan. I’m a Meteorologist and a Forecaster for the Midlands area of South Carolina. I stay in the community of Red Bank, which is right outside of Columbia. I joined the meteorological family since October 2015.
I am from Newberry, South Carolina but I have stayed in my Red Bank home for my entire life. I went to Elementary School at Carolina Springs Elementary School. After I reached CSES, I went to middle school at Carolina Springs Middle School and that's where I am now in 8th grade.
I have produced every single weather forecast graphic that is on my schools weekly broadcast program on YouTube called "WOOF TV". This is where I begin my habit of making accurate weather forecasts for nine midlands counties and 64 cities on the program. I have been on the program since it first started on January 21, 2017 (for 23 months now). During my time at WOOF TV, I have tracked 3 snow storms, Hurricane Matthew in 2016, Hurricane Irma in 2017, and Hurricane Florence and Michael in 2018. I also have tracked multiple severe thunderstorm and tornado events, and I am honoured that the school has counted on me for information.
The program I use to do the weather graphics is called WSI Max. It is a bit cumbersome sometimes, however I make it work. I have around 500 different graphics stored in there. The second system that I use is called "LIVE:Wire". It is what produces the weather crawler that goes off on the bottom of the screen when a certain weather alert is issued.
The weather graphics I include might be a Weekend Forecast, high or low temperatures, or a silly 3D model graphic for holidays.
When I am not looking at weather models, I am out traveling to different and new places and cheering on the Clemson Tigers!
