Evan Roderick
Actor/Songwriter in Vancouver, Canada
As a fan of Evan Roderick, I’ve always appreciated how his story reflects quiet strength and absolute dedication. From competitive hockey to becoming an actor and songwriter, his path is anything but ordinary, and that’s what makes following his journey so rewarding.
I first came across Evan in his role as Detective Nick Anastas on Arrow. Even in a short amount of screen time, his presence stood out. There was a calm focus in his performance that made the character believable. What impressed me was learning that Evan’s first career wasn’t in acting; he had played Division I hockey at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. After a serious injury ended his athletic path, he chose to explore a different side of himself and committed to the arts.
Raised in Vancouver, Evan Roderick Anderson was serious about sports from a young age. He transferred between multiple schools in British Columbia to stay competitive in hockey. During the summers, he picked up commercial acting gigs, which gave him early exposure to performing. When his time in sports ended, he returned to Vancouver and devoted himself entirely to training as an actor, studying and gaining experience through independent projects.
Evan’s role in Netflix’s Spinning Out as Justin Davis showed fans just how far he had come. He brought a layered, emotionally charged performance that connected with a broad audience. It was clear he had found a place where he could fully express himself.
Now, with his upcoming role in If I Run as Dylan Roberts, Evan is stepping into even more complex territory. The story demands emotional depth, and I’m confident he’ll bring the same honesty and discipline he’s shown before. His 2023 Leo Award nomination for Sealed with a List was a proud moment for fans who’ve followed him closely.
In addition to acting, Evan’s music reveals another side of his creativity. His recent single, “Early Years,” is a personal and reflective track that offers fans a glimpse into his journey, told in his own words.
Evan Roderick continues to grow as an artist, and supporting his work feels like being part of something authentic and meaningful.
