Eve Adams
Consultant, Chef, and Small Business Owner in Chicago, Illinois
I'm Eve Adams, aka @hackerhuntress.
I have an extremely strange background which involves previous experience in information security consulting, diversity and inclusion program creation and management, and technical recruiting focused on both security and diversity. Told you it was strange.
I've also been a web journalist and people way smarter than I am have said I'm a good writer. This isn't an item on my CV but I will write stuff for beer money.
I've mostly transitioned out of tech and now work in the food and beverage space, which pays a lot less but is usually more fun. I do keep a toe in technical and organizational consulting; this makes up about 10% of my working life right now. If you want to know why you can read my extensive Twitter rants @hackerhuntress.
If you've done that and still want to hire me, cool! Here are a few more caveats.
- I'm only considering full-time, salaried work if it's extraordinarily interesting. For example, if your company is working on something involving intersections of human rights and technology, I'd be really happy to talk with you.
- I strongly prefer remote work, but I'm happy to travel for the right gig.
- I also strongly prefer ongoing consulting engagements for a variety of reasons.
- I'm sort of expensive. You can ping me about my rates.
- I have a mildly frightening online persona. I use foul language a lot. I talk about uncomfortable subjects, like sexual assault, addiction and the blockchain. I often troll politicians, corporations, and I think the Pope once. I'm much gentler in person, but if you have HR people who get uptight about such things, I'm probably not for you.
Find me on Twitter if you'd like to see my resume or talk about hiring me to either cook you delicious stuff or improve your technical organization's processes. You can also ping me if you want to talk about food, music, cats, the lamentable state of security hiring, or other things I like! I might respond.
