Eve Batey

San Francisco, California, United States

Hi, I'm Eve! I'm an editor, writer, and reporter based in San Francisco.

I'm the Senior Editor/Emerita at SFist, a blog about San Francisco and the Bay Area. Back in the early 00s, I was a co-founding writer (and eventually lead editor) of the site, which is part of the Gothamist family of publications.

In between now and then, I was the San Francisco Chronicle's Deputy Managing Editor for Online, and started there as their blogging and interactive editor. I also founded the San Francisco Appeal, a news and culture site focused on San Francisco.

I'm also the co-founder (with Beth Spotswood) of Slow News Day, and am the co-author (with Patricia Corrigan) of 100 Things to Do in San Francisco Before You Die.

I write about TV for Previously.tv, and have freelanced for a number of publications including 7x7, Inside Housing, and Racked SF. Perhaps I should freelance for you? If so, don't be shy! Drop me a line.

I've also edited a couple of books, including installments in the Nothing But The Truth series and a memoir from one of San Francisco's first female police officers, Good Cop, Bad Daughter.

Finally, I’m an editorial and media strategy consultant for a number of companies and organizations both inside and outside the San Francisco city limits. If you’d like to work with
