My mission is to change the way the world thinks about work. Working has always been a source of joy in my life. I have gained self-confidence, resourcefulness, teamwork, and independence through working. There has been no greater joy in my life than the satisfaction that comes from a hard day of work. However, I have come to the realization that not everyone feels the way I do. There are many people who dread going to work every week-day morning and whose only solace is free time on the weekend. Many feel under-utilized and trapped. This also leads to an inefficient workforce costing employers. Negative feelings formed in one area of life often leak into other areas. After a day of work wishing you were anywhere else, you may not be as friendly with your family, your neighbors, or your grocery store clerk. I am disturbed by the lack of urgency to fix this problem. I aspire to make the world a better place by elevating employee’s attitudes about work and increasing productivity through research and spreading knowledge about human resources, management, and industrial organizational psychology.

My ultimate goal is to make a difference in the world through creating a workplace that has a culture of caring and responsibility to each other. I believe that people’s lives are holistic and require feeling successful at work and home to be happy. By taking care of my employees, choosing health plans that keep them healthy, inviting their families to work to see what they do, making the working environment one that they enjoy and giving them what they want out of work, weather that be mentorship, financial stability, or personal accomplishment, my employees will take care of the business by giving their best work every day. I am seeking an entry level position in a human resources field to gain more experience to fulfill my dream of being a human resources director.
