I'm a mathematician by training. In 2012, I started writing about math and science for a popular audience through a fellowship at Scientific American. When I'm not thinking about spaces of singular Riemann surfaces or writing about fun new discoveries, I might be playing viola, singing shape-note music, sewing, cooking, or looking for beach glass with my husband on the shores of Lake Michigan.
